It’s another attempt to establish a slippery-slope law. All these slippery-slope laws are denied as such by those who request them. Then, they go on to harden, add to, and expand them, just like they implied they wouldn’t.
“We have tried negotiation with the Administration and legislation with the Congress – and we’ll keep at it – but there’s still no fix. Time is running out, and our valuable ministries and fundamental rights hang in the balance, so we have to resort to the courts now.”—Cardinal Timothy Dolan (New York)
Today is the Feast Day of St. Mary Magdalene 'de Pazzi!
She is one of the great Carmelite Saints. Google her and you will find much information on this mystic and writer.
Father James Kubicki, head of the Apostleship of Prayer (a wonderful and widespread ministry!), has a short YouTube video of great paintings of her and a synopsis of her life. As we are all called to be Saints, may her life, writings, and perseverance through temptations and suffering be an inspiration on our own journey to Calvary, following joyfully behind Jesus.
God’s gift, the gift of life, is sacred, precious, priceless and considered less valuable every day as the world slips deeper into the darkness of the evil one. Silence is assent. Pray, my brothers and sisters, that you will not fall into the pit that grows daily, swallowing more and more souls. Pray, not in desperation but in hope for He has already won. But who will join Him in eternity?
The Wall Street Journal tells you in a 4-word headline all you need to know in regards to how you, as a Roman Catholic, should vote in November. If not, let’s throw in his complete support of abortion including his past support of leaving babies born after botched abortions to die from lack of medical attention, food, or water. If you still vote for him, you are not what you say you are. Period.
“Jesus had complete trust in his heavenly Father. He was confident that the Father would glorify him, even though he would die in great pain and dishonor. This was not an easy message for the disciples to understand. Even Peter, when Jesus spoke to him about his death, declared, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you” (Matt 16:22). The hard message for Peter and the other disciples to learn was that this must happen not only to Jesus but they too were called to walk the way of the cross.”—Archbishop Denis Hart (Melbourne)

“If we truly understood the value of Mass, we would die of joy.”—St. John Vianney (via thefullnessofthefaith)
More often than not, my heart, rather my soul, enlarges in me at Mass. For it knows The Creator, knows where it longs to be, and reacts so lovingly in me that I know that Jesus is in The Real Presence after the consecration. Oh Lord, we so long to fly from this world to be with You! Mother Mary, intercede for us and bring our entreaties to Him.
