Humble Catholic Servant of The Word
"Praying For Our Priests"

I was at Adoration last night and found in the book holder on the back of the pew in front of me this wonderful book. It’s in the format of a Holy Hour but you can pray the 20 Mysteries of The Rosary or The Stations of The Cross if that’s what you like. The focus of each prayer is for our priests who have given their lives in service of Christ and us. Taken as a whole, I have never seen such a powerful, simple, and deep Devotional-type prayer book whose sole aim is praying for our priests, whose work is harder than ever in these times. Please consider obtaining the book, audiocast, CDs, etc. Go to prayingforourpriests.org for more details. Thank you and may God Bless you in your endeavors to help build the Kingdom of God in the Presence of this moment! (Please consider forwarding this to all you know who will join us in praying for our priests, who suffer greatly due to guilt by association, false accusations, dwindling numbers to take their place, lack of respect, and maybe hardest of all, loneliness.)

Thank You, Almighty God and Father!
  • Thank You for letting me be born and raised in the USA.
  • Thank You for the Founding Fathers.
  • Thank You for two loving parents.
  • Thank You for my teachers.
  • Thank You for providing the faith and reseliency that keeps generation after generation going!
  • Thank You for Your guiding Hand of Providence in keeping this country free, so we all can express our views and live as we may.
  • Thank You for always giving me the option of different Catholic Churches to attend, no matter where I was.
  • Thank You for providing really incredible and blessed priests to say Mass, to hear my confession, and to provide excellent homilies, speaking the truths and Truth that need to be spoken!
  • Thank You for Perpetual Adoration at our parish, going on 9 years!

Lord, these are but a few of the many thanks I can give. I reserve the two most important for last: Thank You for calling me to be Yours. Above all, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Prayer for Priests

These are challenging times for all, more so for those who lead, feed, and nourish our souls. As we continue to pray for vocations, we should especially pray for those who are our priests, who serve and have served in a wide variety of ways.

Prayer for Priests by St. Therese of Lisieux

O Jesus, eternal Priest,

Keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them.

Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body.

Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with your Precious Blood.

Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood.

Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion.

Bless their labors with abundant fruit and may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown.

Amen.

Thank you to all the priests who make it possible to receive the sacraments daily.

FYI - The month of June is dedicated to The Sacred Heart of Jesus. There are some incedible books on topic, devotion, prayers, and litanies.
A rich source of Sacred Heart material is available on the web.

The Priests of The Sacred Heart in Wisconsin have prayer booklets and various sizes of the above portrait available. They have a great mission and ministries throughout the world as well. You can visit them here:

The Bishops will work on a 50 page document on preaching homilies. They will then vote on it next year and, hopefully, release it shortly thereafter. Our church has been blessed to have some great preachers that explain the readings, psalms, and gospel readings. They then will tie it to the Cathechism and/or it’s meaning to us today.

I pray that the document they release will be a source of encouragement, guidance, and inspiration for all who preach.

Let us all pray that God continues to provide the faithful with strong, fearless priests to guide us and be beacons of light in this darkened world. Please pray for your parish priests, encourage them, and NEVER gossip or complain about them. God has provided, let us rejoice!!
